About the Role:

The role of our Administrators is varied and the heart of the organisation. The team provides crucial administrative support to our Prevention and Protection teams, as well as being the first point of contact with members of the public and our partner organisations. The role will include:

  • Act as an initial point of contact for risk-based referrals, ensuring cases are processed and escalated in line with agreed procedures.
  • Stock control - i.e. ordering and collating stock for fire stations and community safety team.
  • Generating reports from the PRMS system and updating stakeholders when required.
  • General administrative tasks, many of which will be physical, e-mail, or telephone based - the team handles approximately 800 calls per month.
  • Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring visitor logbooks, issuing visitors badges, and arranging collection from Reception.

  • Has a keen eye for detail, and is able to accurately process large volumes of data.
  • Able to resolve issues within the direction set out by policy, procedure, or line management, and escalate emerging issues appropriately.
  • Able to handle sensitive interactions with members of the public in a professional and empathetic manner.

Experience and Qualification Required:

  • Experience of working in an administrative role, ideally in the public sector.
  • IT literate, and competent using Microsoft packages.

Team members will routinely process sensitive or distressing information and must be able to manage this with professionalism, discretion, and emotional resilience.
