Are you an experienced plumbing professional with a passion for quality and education? Buckinghamshire College Group is seeking a Part-Time Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to support our Plumbing & Heating provision across full-time study programmes (Levels 1 & 2) and apprenticeships aligned to the Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

About the Role

You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of assessment practices across our plumbing curriculum. Working closely with lecturers, assessors and curriculum teams, you'll verify assignment briefs, sample assessment decisions, and support standardisation activities to maintain compliance with awarding body requirements and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internally verify assessment activities and assignment briefs.
  • Provide guidance and support to assessors on assessment standards and evidence requirements.
  • Plan and conduct regular sampling of assessment decisions.
  • Organise and lead standardisation meetings.
  • Liaise with external verifiers and participate in student appeals where necessary.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Heating (e.g., NVQ Level 3/Advanced Craft).
  • Assessor and Verifier Awards (A1/V1 or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of current occupational standards and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience in assessing and verifying NVQs and apprenticeship standards.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and ICT skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and continuous improvement.
