Buckingham Rugby Club is a grassroots rugby organization with a proud tradition and a strong community presence. The club boasts 2 x senior men's and 2 x women's teams, as well as a vibrant youth section that nurtures the growth and development of young players from U6 to U18. Committed to fostering talent at all levels, the club provides a supportive environment for players to enhance their skills and love for the game. Buckingham Rugby Club is dedicated to promoting the values of teamwork, discipline, and respect both on and off the field.

We are looking for a new Head Coach for the Buckingham Swans 1st XV. The Head Coach will oversee the planning and delivery of training sessions, player development, and match preparation to build a competitive and cohesive team. Responsibilities also include advising on team selection, fostering a positive and inclusive culture, and working closely with club management and support staff. Training nights are currently Monday and Wednesday, but we have views to change this going forward into next season. Similarly, games could be a mixture of Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in rugby coaching, preferably within the women's game, including technical and tactical knowledge of the game.
  • Ideally level 3 (advanced rugby coaching award).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to motivate and collaborate with players and support staff effectively.
  • Experience in player development, mentoring, and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Familiarity with creating and delivering training plans and match strategies.
  • Ability to manage responsibilities in a hybrid work environment, balancing in-person and remote tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of the values of grassroots rugby and a commitment to the club is essential.
