To assist the nursery team in providing a friendly, caring and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop children in our care. To ensure all daily routines are adhered to. Adopt a creative and innovative approach towards practice, by being open to opportunities for improvements, in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Plan and provide safe, appropriate, child-led and adult-initiated experiences, activities and play opportunities indoor, outdoor and in out-of-setting contexts, which enable children to develop and learn. Select, prepare and use a range of resources suitable for children’s ages, interests and abilities, taking account of diversity and promoting equality and inclusion.

Maintain children’s records and carry out assessments. To settle in new children and provide on-going support, under a key worker system, liaising with parents and maintaining good communications. Undertake laundry and kitchen cleaning duties daily. Keep laundry/other areas and kitchen clean and tidy. To assist in maintaining a safe, clean and tidy nursery.

To ensure nursery policies for health, hygiene and safety are adhered to, with particular attention to hygiene practices and the prevention of accidents. To keep abreast of current issues and attend training programs outside of working hours if necessary. Contribute to and participate in team meetings/team activities, outside of working hours if necessary.

Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in the nursery. Respect confidentiality within the setting and maintain high standards of conduct in keeping with the nursery. Communicate with parents and other visitors in a calm, friendly and efficient manner. Take reasonable care of yourself and others, to comply with the Nursery and School Health and Safety Policy.
