Buckingham Futures are working exclusively with a client in Devon to recruit a Sheltered Housing Officer on a 6-month contract. This role involves providing frontline support to residents in sheltered housing schemes, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and independence. The successful candidate will deliver excellent customer service, manage day-to-day operations, and support tenants with a range of housing and welfare needs.

Main Duties

  • Provide day-to-day support to residents, promoting independence and wellbeing
  • Monitor and maintain sheltered housing schemes, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment
  • Respond promptly to resident concerns, emergencies, and maintenance issues
  • Assist residents with tenancy matters, benefits, and referrals to support services
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with organisational policies
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and community services
  • Support social activities and encourage community engagement within schemes
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and housing policies

Requirements

  • Experience working in sheltered housing, supported housing, or tenancy management
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and welfare support pathways
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day responsibilities
  • Understanding of safeguarding and vulnerable adult procedures
