Buckingham Futures is working with a Local Authority in East Anglia in their search for an Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety) to carry out 15 Category C inspections per month, over a 3 month period.
Contract Length: 3 months
Workload: 15 Inspections per month
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Category C food hygiene inspections and remote interventions
- Ensure compliance with the Food Standards Agency Code of Practice
- Communicate effectively with food business operators, including negotiation where required
- Accurately record inspections, outcomes, and enforcement actions using council systems
- Prioritise and manage workload to meet agreed deadlines
- Work flexibly across the city and liaise with internal and external stakeholders as needed
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified Environmental Health Officer or suitably qualified Technical Officer
- Meets FSA competency requirements for food hygiene official controls
- Recent experience working within a local authority (ideally within the last few years)
- Minimum of 20 hours food-related CPD
- Registered with EHORB / EHRB
- Confident using ICT systems for inspection recording and data entry
- Strong communication and organisational skills
