Environmental Protection Team leader
Location West London
6 months ongoing contract role
We are looking to speak to experienced Team Managers to lead the Environmental Protection Unit and ensure the effective delivery of statutory environmental protection.
Key responsibilities

You will manage a team of up to eight staff
-
oversee complex environmental protection cases
-
provide specialist technical advice, and ensure the service meets legislative, professional and Council requirements.

Working closely with residents, businesses, elected members, government agencies and partner organisations, while leading service improvement, performance management and resource planning.
Essential requirements:
-
We are looking for a confident and experienced environmental protection professional with strong leadership and people-management skills.

A degree or diploma in Environmental Health or a relevant discipline, with appropriate professional membership and evidence of continuing professional development.

Significant experience in Environmental Protection within a regulated environment.

Experience managing a team involved in inspections, investigations, enforcement, compliance and technical casework.

Strong knowledge of relevant environmental protection legislation, guidance and best practice.

Excellent communication, customer service and report-writing skills.
Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or a relevant discipline.

Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and membership of a relevant professional body.

Recognised management qualification or equivalent management experience.

Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant technical area is desirable.

Project management qualification or relevant experience is desirable.

Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel to locations across the borough and airport as required.
