Buckingham Futures have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Protection Officer to join a local authority in Hampshire. This role is to start ASAP on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong potential for extension.

We’re keen to hear from professionals with experience in Environmental Protection.

Key Areas of Work Environmental Protection Investigating statutory nuisances such as noise, odour, smoke, light, and similar community-impact issues Handling domestic and commercial environmental complaints Drafting and serving enforcement notices, and preparing evidence for potential legal proceedings Reviewing planning applications to assess environmental impacts and provide professional input Supporting wider Public Health work, including pest infestations, filthy and verminous premises, and arranging Public Health funerals Requirements Degree, Diploma, or MSc in Environmental Health Proven experience in Environmental Protection, ideally within a local authority setting Strong working knowledge of statutory nuisance legislation and enforcement procedures Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle Strong communication, organisation, and the ability to work independently
