Buckingham Futures is recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Surrey. We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Officer to support the delivery of the council's food hygiene inspection programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing a set number of Category D and E inspections to ensure compliance with current food safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out official food hygiene inspections for Category D and E premises in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice.
  • Assess and verify compliance with food safety legislation, providing clear advice and recommendations where necessary.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records of inspections and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Essential qualifications: Higher Certificate in Food Control, Certificate of Registration, or Diploma issued by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHORB/EHRB).
  • Demonstrable competency in the inspection of food establishments (Cluster 4).
  • A minimum of 10 hours of relevant Food Core CPD, in line with the latest Food Law Code of Practice and Guidance.
  • Copies of relevant qualifications, CPD certificates, and EHORB/EHRB registration must be provided to Buckingham Futures prior to commencement of the contract.
