Buckingham Futures is currently seeking a competent Environmental Health Officer or Food Safety Officer to support the delivery of Official Controls across food businesses within a local authority district in Yorkshire and the Humber. This is a flexible, rolling contract, ideal for professionals who can manage their own workload and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct food hygiene inspections across a range of premises, including new/unrated food business registrations and all risk categories of food premises.
- Complete inspection report forms and assign risk ratings in line with the Food Law Code of Practice.
- Prepare and issue follow-up schedules of work where required.
Please note: Food Standards inspections are not required and enforcement revisits are not expected. You will have full autonomy to plan and manage your own inspection schedule.
Pay
Up to £50 per hour (Umbrella), offering flexibility and fair remuneration based on time worked.
Requirements
- EHRB Registration or Higher Certificate in Food Control (or equivalent).
- Proven experience delivering food hygiene inspections within local authorities.
- Ability to work independently and in line with regulatory standards.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
- Confidence inspecting a variety of food premises across all risk categories.
Compliance / Evidence Required
- Proof of competency.
- Minimum 10 hours of food-related CPD.
- Valid driving licence.
