The predicted salary is between 60000 - 70000 £ per year.

Location: Colchester, Essex

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000+ DOE

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting site inspections across residential and commercial developments.
  • Assessing plans and specifications for compliance with Building Regulations.
  • Inspecting and approving foundations, excavations, drainage installations, reinforced concrete works, and structural groundworks.
  • Providing technical guidance to developers, architects, contractors, and homeowners.
  • Producing inspection reports and supporting projects through to completion certification.
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, legislation, and industry standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working within Building Control, either with a Local Authority or Registered Building Control Approver.
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Proven experience inspecting foundations, drainage, groundworks, and structural elements.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • CABE, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Registered Building Inspector status (Class 2A or above).
  • Experience across both residential and commercial projects.
