Buckingham Futures are working exclusively with a client in the Midlands to recruit an experienced Housing Officer on a 6–12 month contract. This role will involve managing a designated housing patch and delivering a high-quality housing management service to residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining sustainable tenancies, supporting residents, and ensuring neighbourhoods are safe, well managed, and compliant with housing policies and procedures. You will act as a key point of contact for tenants and work closely with internal teams, contractors, and partner agencies to resolve issues and deliver effective housing services.
Main Duties
- Manage a housing patch and provide effective tenancy and neighbourhood management
- Carry out tenancy visits, estate inspections, and tenancy audits
- Investigate and manage anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases
- Respond to tenancy breaches and take appropriate enforcement action where required
- Support residents to sustain their tenancies and access relevant support services
- Work with internal departments and external agencies to resolve resident issues
- Maintain accurate records and case notes on housing management systems
- Contribute to maintaining safe, clean, and well-managed estates
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a Housing Officer or Housing Management role
- Experience managing tenancies, ASB cases, and estate management issues
- Strong communication and case management skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently
- Experience working within social housing, local authority, or housing association environments
