Role Overview

Buckingham Futures is recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer/Technical Officer within Environmental Protection for our Local Authority client based in Hertfordshire (part-time office-based with flexibility to work from home part-time).

Responsibilities

Join a busy Environmental Protection Team, managing a varied workload and collecting, collating, and securing evidence relating to:

  • Noise and other statutory nuisance
  • Filthy & verminous / severely hoarded premises
  • Rubbish and accumulations
  • Dark smoke and trade waste bonfires
  • Defective drainage

Qualifications

  • Enforcing legislation including: Environmental Protection Act 1990, Public Health Act 1936, Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949, Clean Air Act 1993, Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Building Act 1984
  • Serving legal notices, conducting works in default, obtaining warrants, and carrying out prosecutions
  • Supporting Environmental Health Officers with complex, high-risk investigations
  • Microsoft applications; Assure experience desirable but not essential

Special Conditions

  • Full driving licence with access to a vehicle and relevant insurance
  • Occasional monitoring visits outside office hours may be required
