Our client in Essex is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to take full responsibility for the complete range of Food and Health & Safety enforcement casework. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Food Act and Health and Safety at Work Act, along with the ability to manage complex correspondence efficiently, ensuring all tasks meet deadlines and align with the Council's objectives. This is a part-time position with a 50/50 split between remote work and office-based duties within the district. The role will be hourly paid.

Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the complete range of Food and Health & Safety enforcement casework.
  • Manage complex correspondence efficiently, ensuring tasks meet deadlines and align with the Council's objectives.

Requirements

  • Competency in Inspection of Food Establishments (Cluster 4)
  • At least 10 hours of Food Core CPD, as specified in the current Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance
  • Relevant qualifications, CPD certificates, and registration with EHORB/EHRB (or equivalent) must be provided before the contract commences.
