Are you looking for a new challenge within the education sector? We are looking for part time Variable Hours Lecturer in Childcare and Health and Social Care (Maternity Cover) to join our dedicated and dynamic team of lecturers at Buckinghamshire College Group, based at our Aylesbury Campus.

As a Variable Hours Lecturer - Childcare and Health and Social Care you will be educating and engaging our students, preparing them for careers in a variety of work-related areas such as supporting someone during palliative care, helping families or supporting the development of children. The skills and knowledge that you teach the students have a real impact on the health and education sectors as most students progress onto further study or careers within these sectors. You will be part of a passionate and innovative team where you be supported to achieve your goals in a collaborative, respectful and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Plan and deliver high quality teaching in the subject areas required, using up to date vocational knowledge and expertise to ensure the curriculum delivered develops students\' employability, life and learning skills.
  • Motivate and inspire students and raise their aspirations through own enthusiasm and subject knowledge.
  • Support students to take responsibility for their own learning by helping them to set goals that stretch and challenge them.
  • Manage and promote positive student behaviour.
  • Monitor and record student progress
  • Adhere to college policies and procedures

Taking Teaching Further

The College actively engages with the Education & Training Foundation\'s Taking Teaching Further scheme to recruit industry professionals to teach within Further Education.

As industry professionals offer our students industry experience and insight we support our unqualified teachers to learn \'on the job\'. You will be given full support throughout your development to fully qualified teacher status. Whilst in employment you would be enrolled onto the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. After completion you can choose to move be onto our Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training qualification. This is a great way for experienced professionals to achieve a recognised teaching qualification whilst in employment
