Buckhill is a global technology company with offices in the UK and Croatia. As a strategic technology partner to the London Market, we deliver modern insurance solutions through agile, cross‑functional delivery teams leveraging AI capabilities, a growing partner ecosystem, and a culture rooted in innovation and collaboration. We support continuous learning and invest in the growth of our Bucks, fostering an environment where people thrive. With the option for remote work, we’ve expanded our global footprint, building a diverse and multicultural team making a real impact.
As a Lead Product Owner at Buckhill, you will play a meaningful role throughout the product’s life cycle, contributing to the evolution of our current products and helping to optimise client experiences. Our products serve the Lloyd’s of London and wider London Market, so a strong grounding in that ecosystem – its participants, workflows, and regulatory environment – is central to succeeding in this role. Buckhill is on an exciting trajectory – transitioning from a bespoke InsurTech software development company towards a more product‑focused organisation – and you will be joining at a time when strong product ownership has real, tangible impact on that journey.

Job Responsibilities:
- Define and communicate Buckhill’s C2MS product vision, strategy, and goals aligned with our business objectives. Develop and maintain a clear, prioritised product roadmap based on market research, customer feedback, and business priorities.
- Gather and translate requirements from internal and external stakeholders – including underwriters, brokers, and operations teams within the Lloyd’s and London Market – and ensure their needs are addressed within the product.
- Own and manage the product backlog, creating well‑defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Delivery Managers across Buckhill’s product teams to ensure alignment on priorities, dependencies, and delivery cadence within the Lloyd’s and London Market context. Work closely with business analysts, solution architects, Development, UI Design, Solutions, Customer Support and QA teams to deliver features and improvements in a timely, iterative manner.
- Make tough trade‑off decisions based on value, effort, and impact, balancing short‑term wins with long‑term vision.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and support teams to drive product launches, adoption, and growth.
- Analyse product performance through metrics and KPIs, and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Represent the voice of the customer in all stages of product development.
- Understand risks associated with the products and work with stakeholders to reduce or mitigate them.
- Ensure that product solutions meet Lloyd’s Market regulatory, compliance, and operational standards, and maintain awareness of London Market developments relevant to our products.
- Leverage AI tools, including Claude, to enhance product discovery, accelerate user story development, and improve the quality and speed of backlog management; champion AI‑assisted ways of working within the Product Management team.
- Stay actively informed on how AI is reshaping the Lloyd’s and London Market insurance landscape, and translate that awareness into product thinking – identifying opportunities where AI‑enabled features can give Buckhill’s clients a competitive edge.
- Be prepared to travel to meet with clients and/or partners to better understand their needs and further nurture the relationship as and when needed.
Desired Qualifications & Skillset:
- 5 or more years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role
- Experience working within the Lloyd’s of London or wider London Market is essential; broader InsurTech or FinTech background is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is a plus.
- In‑depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, particularly the Scrum framework.
- Proven ability to develop product strategies and successfully execute them.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to balance business and technical priorities.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, experience working with cross‑functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data‑driven decision making.
