My client is an established non-bank lender who provides Bridging Finance.
Responsibilities
- To underwrite and assess fully packaged loan applications in line with current risk appetite and criteria
- Make an initial call to the introducer upon receipt of the fully packaged loan application to confirm understanding of the deal, concerns etc.
- Add notes to Loan Origination System to ensure that case managers can understand what items remain outstanding and to ensure that all relevant case tasks have been actioned. Ensure all data fields are correctly updated
- Issue Underwriting Shopping List/ decline cases which are outside of policy/appetite
- Review valuations/AM/QS reports (liaising with Servicing for Refurbishment loans)
- Liaising with brokers and solicitors, ensuring queries are resolved
- Deal with third party phone calls which cannot be dealt with by the case managers, due to complexity
- Create a credit paper and ensure that this is always up to date
- Approve applications within mandate and prepare for EC/approval by senior mandate holder/funder where necessary
- Resolve 2nd Signatory/EC requirements prior to offer
- Issue of Mortgage Offers
- Ensure all matters are dealt with in line with business SLA.
- Deal with post offer legal queries
- Review COT/ROT
- Review of legal documents
- Facilitate completion
- Act in a professional manner in all dealings internally and externally
- Support the Company’s objectives in a positive manner
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of bridging underwriting experience (ideally 5 years+)
- In depth knowledge of MCOB and all other relevant regulatory obligations
- Excellent understanding of loan process
- Experienced in communicating with brokers and customers
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Experience of working in a SME business
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Salary: up to £75k (depending on experience)
Location: London (hybrid working)
