Our client, a leading global financial institution, is looking for a talented Junior Subsidiary Banker to join their Japanese Corporate Banking team in London. This front-office role focuses on managing relationships with Japanese corporate clients in the UK and EMEA region. The successful candidate will support senior Relationship Managers, drive business development, and play a key role in executing strategic initiatives. Experience working with corporate subsidiaries is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients, including subsidiaries of large Japanese corporates, to achieve commercial and risk objectives.
- Support senior Relationship Managers in credit analysis, business origination, and client strategy.
- Collaborate with product partners to deliver tailored financial solutions.
- Monitor and manage market, credit, operational, and compliance risks.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to strategic planning and share insights across international teams.
- Prepare high-quality credit assessments, reports, and portfolio monitoring.
Experience
- Front-office experience in corporate banking.
- Experience in managing subsidiaries or corporate groups is required.
- Experience in credit assessment for medium to large corporates.
- Exposure to working in a multicultural, international environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, strategic planning, and financial products.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.
- Business-level fluency in Japanese (written and verbal) - highly desirable.
