- Vice President – Real Estate Finance (Logistics)
- Coverage: UK & Europe
We are looking for an experienced Vice President to join a growing Real Estate Finance platform, with a particular focus on developing and executing financing opportunities across the Logistics sector in the UK and Europe.
This is an opportunity to take a key role within an ambitious real estate lending business, combining transaction origination and execution with genuine responsibility for helping develop the Logistics financing strategy.
You will work with leading institutional sponsors and financial institutions, originating and structuring tailored real estate financing solutions while partnering closely with Credit, Syndication, Risk, Legal and other stakeholders.
The opportunity
The successful candidate will play an important role in expanding the Real Estate Finance business and developing its Logistics lending franchise.
This is a broad VP position offering exposure across the full transaction lifecycle — from identifying new opportunities and developing sponsor relationships through underwriting, structuring, credit approval, documentation and financial close.
You will also help shape the approach to Logistics lending, including developing sector expertise, establishing lending parameters, supporting internal approvals and building a pipeline of new opportunities.
- What you'll be doing
- Originate, structure and execute Real Estate Finance transactions across the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on Logistics.
- Identify and develop new financing opportunities with institutional sponsors and financial institution clients.
- Help develop and implement the Logistics lending strategy, building sector expertise and supporting the growth of the franchise.
- Lead transactions from initial origination through underwriting, approval, documentation and financial close.
- Undertake detailed financial analysis, cashflow modelling, transaction structuring and risk assessment.
- Prepare and present high-quality credit applications, approval papers and transaction recommendations.
- Coordinate due diligence processes involving legal advisers, valuers, technical consultants and other professional advisers.
- Review and negotiate financing documentation alongside internal and external legal counsel.
- Work closely with Credit, Syndication, Risk, Legal, Sponsor Coverage and other product partners.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, clients, lenders, advisers and other market participants.
- Monitor market trends, sector developments and competitor activity.
- Maintain oversight of transaction pipelines and provide senior stakeholders with clear updates on deal progression and business development activity.
What we're looking for
You'll bring substantial experience in Real Estate Finance, Commercial Real Estate Lending, Structured Finance, Investment Banking or a closely related area, together with a strong track record of executing commercial real estate financing transactions.
Ideally, you'll have
- Proven experience originating, structuring and executing commercial real estate debt transactions.
- Strong commercial real estate credit and underwriting skills.
- Experience preparing credit applications and securing internal credit approvals.
- Advanced financial modelling, cashflow forecasting and analytical capabilities.
- Experience managing transaction due diligence, documentation and execution.
- A strong understanding of commercial real estate financing structures and debt markets.
- Experience working with institutional sponsors, financial institutions and professional advisers.
- A good understanding of UK and European real estate markets.
- Previous experience underwriting or executing Logistics financing transactions would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent client, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage several transactions and competing priorities simultaneously.
A degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business or a related discipline would be expected.
Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACA or MRICS would be advantageous but are not essential.
The person
This role will particularly suit someone with an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset who wants more than a pure transaction-execution position.
You'll be comfortable taking ownership, identifying opportunities and operating with a high degree of autonomy.
You'll combine strong credit judgement and attention to detail with the confidence to build relationships and contribute to the growth of a developing business.
The environment is collaborative, fast-moving and entrepreneurial, offering significant individual responsibility and the opportunity to have a meaningful influence on the development of the Logistics financing franchise.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced Real Estate Finance professional who wants to combine origination, execution and strategic business development.
Rather than simply joining an established lending desk, you'll have the opportunity to help build and shape a growing Logistics finance proposition, develop senior sponsor relationships and play an important role in its expansion across the UK and Europe.
