Job Purpose To support sustainable business growth by developing prudent, commercially focused credit risk policies, collaborating with various business functions, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also involves oversight of lending decisions and participation in risk forums or committees. Key Responsibilities: Credit Policy Development and Liaison Act as a liaison between the Credit Policy team and New Lending. Ensure lending manuals meet minimum credit policy requirements. Referrals and Escalations Own and monitor referrals to the credit policy team from underwriting or other areas, ensuring SLA compliance. Proposals and Risk Oversight Evaluate new lending propositions, balancing risk appetite and regulatory principles. Prepare proposals for senior management review and approval. Policy Updates Update lending policies in line with risk appetite and maintain change logs. Committee and Forum Participation Support the Risk Manager and provide input for risk committees. Compliance and Mentoring Ensure adherence to FCA regulations, Data Protection, AML legislation, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF). Mentor colleagues and contribute to their development. What you will Bring: Financial services experience with expertise in secured lending. Expertise in underwriting, risk assessment, and mentoring. Strong knowledge of the mortgage market and product lifecycle. Knowledge of commercial secured lending. Familiarity with risk factors affecting consumers and limited companies. Strong IT proficiency. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Collaborative, self-starter mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks. Location: Home based with adhoc travel to Berkshire Salary: up to £75k (depending on experience)
