For Companies Associate Director – Corporate Finance Headhunter
Our client, a leading global financial institution, is looking for a talented Junior Subsidiary Banker to join their Japanese Corporate Banking team in London.
This front‐office role focuses on managing relationships with Japanese corporate clients in the UK and EMEA region. The successful candidate will support senior Relationship Managers, drive business development, and play a key role in executing strategic initiatives. Experience working with corporate subsidiaries is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of clients, including subsidiaries of large Japanese corporates, to achieve commercial and risk objectives.
Support senior Relationship Managers in credit analysis, business origination, and client strategy.
Collaborate with product partners to deliver tailored financial solutions.
Monitor and manage market, credit, operational, and compliance risks.
Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to strategic planning and share insights across international teams.
Prepare high-quality credit assessments, reports, and portfolio monitoring.
Experience
Front-office experience in corporate banking.
Experience in managing subsidiaries or corporate groups is required.
Experience in credit assessment for medium to large corporates.
Exposure to working in a multicultural, international environment.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of corporate finance, strategic planning, and financial products.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.
Business-level fluency in Japanese (written and verbal) – highly desirable
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
Effective organisational, time management, and project management skills.
