My client is a leading Corporate Finance Advisory Firm focused on Real Assets, Sustainability & Essential Services, united by a culture that values innovation, energy and purpose. They are looking to recruit a Director into the Debt Advisory Group, a team that provides debt advisory and execution services serving financial sponsors, corporates and developers across the real assets spectrum, including infrastructure, energy, real estate and transportation sectors, operating in the mid-market space. The role will involve the origination of new real estate debt advisory mandates with a focus on infrastructure, utilities and energy.
The successful candidate will have experience advising clients on a wide range of capital and debt funding solutions and will be responsible for the ongoing management of these client relationships, in addition to building and maintaining relationships across the lender universe. The Director will lead the deal team and be responsible for managing and developing junior colleagues within the team.
Responsibilities- Business Development / Origination: Lead on new idea generation, initiatives and pitches - identifying potential target transactions and clients. Guiding the team in preparation of pitch books, memorandums, management presentations, board materials and other presentation materials for use in strategic client dialogue.
- Client Support: Advising and supporting clients with debt advisory.
- Execution Supervision & Lead: Guiding and supervising the deal team with day-to-day management of transactions which includes preparation of information memoranda, transaction structuring, financial modelling, management presentations and execution of legal documentation.
- Relationships: Broaden the lending relationships of the company, leveraging own network as well as picking up and strengthening existing company lending relationships across banks, institutions and private credit.
- Team Development: Support the team’s development and learning, being the role model and mentor for junior colleagues.
- 8+ years’ experience in corporate finance across debt advisory or lending, with a sector focus on infrastructure, utilities and energy sectors.
- Proven transaction track-record and client relationships across infrastructure sponsors, regulated utilities and developers – this is an origination focussed role so the successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to build new client relationships and grow the business in line with an agreed business plan.
- Demonstrated track-record of leading transactions and deal teams across a variety complex debt and capital structures end-to-end – this will ideally include project financing, portfolio financings and holdco / fund level financing.
