Buckden Partners has been mandated by a leading UK BTR Property Management operator who are looking to appoint an experienced Client Accounts Manager to take ownership of their client finance function in Manchester. Managing a portfolio of 12,500+ homes, this is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional with a strong client accounts background who understands the detail behind the numbers but is now looking to take ownership of a wider team and function.

You will oversee a team of 7 Client Accounts professionals, providing leadership and support while ensuring the accuracy, control and efficiency of the entire client accounts operation. This role would suit someone who has previously worked within client accounts, property finance, lettings, estate agency, block management or a similar environment and understands the importance of accurate financial processing, reconciliations and managing client funds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for day-to-day client accounting activities
  • Oversee the full client money lifecycle, including rent receipts, invoice processing, payment releases and landlord/client payments
  • Review and oversee bank reconciliations, cash movements and account reconciliations across multiple platforms
  • Ensure accurate allocation of funds and investigate discrepancies or variances
  • Understand and challenge financial information, including income, expenditure, profitability and P&L reporting
  • Ensure payment deadlines and regulatory requirements are consistently met
  • Support client account audits and maintain strong financial controls
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers, contractors and wider stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and automation across the function
Ideal Background:
  • Previous experience within Client Accounts / Client Money / Property Accounts
  • Strong understanding of finance processes including invoices, payments, reconciliations and cash management
  • Comfortable reviewing financial information and understanding the impact on profitability and P&L
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team, with the ability to motivate and develop others
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong Excel skills
  • Experience within property, lettings, estate agency, block management or Build to Rent is highly desirable
