Our client, a prominent investment firm, is seeking an Associate Director to lead and reshape a diverse SME portfolio across various industries. This position is focused on stabilising operations and driving growth for businesses navigating strategic challenges.

My client is open to candidates who have come from restructuring and moved into PE on the Portfolio side, or an Investment Manager who is keen to work in Portfolio Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess financial, operational, and regulatory challenges, identifying risks and opportunities.
  2. Establish strong relationships with company boards, CEOs, CFOs, and investors.
  3. Support the execution of strategic initiatives, value maximization, and leadership transitions.
  4. Negotiate follow-on investments and prepare investment papers.
  5. Guide exit strategies, including trade sales, IPOs, and refinancing.
  6. Oversee internal reporting, valuations, and performance monitoring.
  7. Foster knowledge-sharing and best practices across the portfolio.

Key Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of post-qualification experience in accountancy (Corporate Finance, Due Diligence), Private Equity, or related fields.
  2. 2+ years of experience in investment, portfolio management, or value creation roles.
  3. Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
  4. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA qualification preferred.
  5. Excellent commercial awareness and interpersonal skills.
