Overview

A leading international law firm is seeking a junior Associate to join its London Financial Services Regulatory practice.

This is an additional growth hire within a specialist team advising major banks, asset managers and other regulated businesses.

The role is principally focused on non-contentious regulatory work and offers the opportunity to develop a genuine specialism within a prominent City financial institutions practice.

What You'll Do

  • Advise financial institutions and other regulated businesses on UK regulatory requirements.
  • Support clients with governance, conduct, authorisation and compliance matters.
  • Assist with the regulatory aspects of transactions, products and business structures.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and help clients understand their practical implications.
  • Draft advice, policies, regulatory submissions and client communications.
  • Work on cross-border matters alongside colleagues across the firm's international network.
  • Build direct client relationships and assume increasing responsibility as your experience develops.

About You

  • Approximately 1-3PQE, with substantive UK financial services regulatory experience.
  • Ideally experienced in non-contentious financial regulation.
  • Strong technical, drafting and analytical skills.
  • Experience advising financial institutions or other regulated businesses.
  • A clear commitment to developing a long-term career in Financial Services Regulatory work.
  • Confident managing matters and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience gained within a respected City, international or US law firm would be advantageous.

England and Wales qualification is not essential.

US-qualified and other internationally qualified lawyers may be considered, provided they have meaningful experience practising financial services regulation in the UK.

Candidates from contentious regulatory practices are also encouraged to apply where they can demonstrate relevant technical knowledge and a genuine commitment to transitioning permanently into non-contentious work.
