Commercial Litigation Lawyer (4–5 PQE)

An Elite US law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate (4–5 PQE) to join its growing Dubai disputes practice.

Due to an increasing volume of complex commercial litigation before the DIFC Courts, the team is looking to hire an experienced litigator with strong offshore courts experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded disputes team acting on high-value, cross-border matters for international corporates, financial institutions, and major regional businesses.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to work on some of the most significant commercial disputes in the Middle East, with a particular emphasis on proceedings before the DIFC Courts.

The successful candidate will join a partner-led team where associates receive significant responsibility, direct client exposure, and involvement in every stage of complex litigation.

The team is looking for a lawyer whose practice is focused almost exclusively on commercial litigation, rather than candidates whose experience is split between litigation and arbitration.

Lawyers relocating from London with strong DIFC Courts experience will also be considered.

The Team

The disputes practice is recognised for advising clients on complex, high-value commercial litigation across the UAE and wider Middle East.

The team regularly acts on multi-jurisdictional disputes involving financial institutions, multinational corporations, sovereign entities, and high-net-worth individuals, with a particular strength in offshore litigation before the DIFC Courts.

Associates work closely with experienced partners on technically challenging matters, benefiting from a collaborative environment and significant client contact from an early stage.

The successful candidate will focus predominantly on commercial litigation before the DIFC Courts, advising clients throughout the lifecycle of complex disputes.

The work includes

  • High-value commercial litigation before the DIFC Courts.
  • Cross-border contractual and shareholder disputes.
  • Financial services and banking litigation.
  • Interim applications, enforcement proceedings, and jurisdictional disputes.
  • Advising international clients on strategic litigation risk and dispute management.
  • Working closely with partners on complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes involving multiple stakeholders.

The role is almost entirely litigation-focused, making it particularly well suited to lawyers who have built a specialist litigation practice rather than a mixed litigation and arbitration profile.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is an opportunity to join one of the region's leading disputes practices at a time of continued growth.

The role offers exposure to sophisticated, high-value litigation with a genuine emphasis on DIFC Court work, providing an excellent platform for lawyers looking to further develop a specialist commercial litigation practice.

The successful candidate will enjoy close partner mentorship, significant responsibility on complex matters, and direct interaction with an international client base.

For lawyers relocating from London, the role presents the opportunity to combine top-tier disputes work with a move into one of the world's fastest-growing legal markets.

  • Candidate Requirements
  • 4–5 years' PQE.
  • Qualification in England & Wales or Australia.
  • Strong DIFC Courts experience (essential).
  • A practice focused almost exclusively on commercial litigation.
  • Experience managing complex commercial disputes from inception through to trial and enforcement.
  • Excellent drafting, advocacy support, and client management skills.
  • Strong academic credentials and experience gained at an Elite US, Magic Circle, or other leading international disputes practice.

The team places significant emphasis on technical excellence, commercial awareness, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, partner-led environment.
