Job Description
You'll be joining a mid-sized, balanced team that currently includes 4 partners, 3 associates (2 senior, 1 junior), and a trainee. The team operates without a traditional ladder system where all associates work directly with all partners, giving you a range of exposure and the opportunity to build relationships across the group.
The practice is deeply integrated with the wider finance and corporate groups and advises on a broad spectrum of UK and international tax matters, including transactional tax, fund structuring, investment platforms, tax-efficient reorganisations, and cross-border advisory work.
The firm generates all its own work internally with no reliance on referrals and is known for its standout expertise in tech, retail, and infrastructure sectors.
What They’re Looking For
- 2–6 years’ PQE, ideally gained at a top-tier UK or international law firm
- Strong experience in UK corporate tax transactional and/or advisory
- A background working with funds, corporates, or financial institutions is highly valued
- No requirement to be E&W qualified, but you must have experience working in the UK market
- A confident, analytical approach with commercial insight and strong communication skills
They’re open to candidates from a wide range of firms but have a preference for those with experience at major players such as Magic Circle, Silver Circle, and top US or international firms.
By joining you will have:
- A broad, varied caseload spanning multiple sectors and deal types
- Strong integration with the corporate and finance practices — never siloed
- Supportive, non-pressured environment where associates are trusted to learn and grow
- Realistic hours expectations the team works hard, but it’s not an extreme culture
- Mid-sized team means you get responsibility and mentorship without being stretched thin
- Modern, well-located offices
- Associates are well retained and supported — several partners trained and progressed within the firm
- The wider firm is in growth mode, providing further opportunities for development and progression
