A leading law firm is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel (0–3 PQE) with a focus particularly in securitisations, derivatives and structured finance looking to move back into private practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer at a bank, investment firm and equity house to gain broad exposure to complex financial products and transactions within a fast-paced, commercial private practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising front office and business stakeholders on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues relating to financial instruments
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and financial services documentation
- Supporting transactions across multiple product lines, including capital markets, derivatives, financing and structured products (depending on experience)
- Assisting with regulatory and compliance matters, including interaction with internal compliance teams
- Managing external counsel and supporting wider legal projects and initiatives
- Keeping up to date with legal and regulatory developments impacting the business
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer with 0–3 years’ PQE
- Experience gained in a in-house legal team, within financial services with particular focus on structured finance transactions
- Strong academic background
- Excellent drafting and analytical skills
- Commercial mindset with the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice
