We are working on a retained basis with one of the most prominent Investment Funds & Private Capital practices in London to source two associates for their credit funds team. These roles represent a genuine growth hire as the team is exceptionally busy and expanding capacity, not backfilling.
The Team
This is a market-leading Investment Funds & Private Capital practice, widely regarded as one of the foremost credit funds teams in the City. The practice holds a Band 1 ranking in Chambers UK for Investment Funds: Private Equity: Credit Funds and is consistently recognised as a Leading Individual practice in Legal 500 UK for private funds. The firm was named Law Firm of the Year Fund Formation: Europe at the Private Debt Investor Awards and has received similar recognition across multiple leading industry publications.
The London credit funds practice is co-led by one of the most decorated lawyers in the sector, a partner recognised as Investment Funds Lawyer of the Year (Women in Business Law Awards EMEA), Most Innovative Legal Practitioner (Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe Report), and a consistent Band 1 ranking in Chambers UK. Her practice covers private equity, private debt, direct lending, credit, mezzanine, real estate, infrastructure, CLOs and CDOs, structured credit, and special situations, a rare breadth that gives the team a distinctive edge.
The broader practice also incorporates ESG capability fully integrated across the team, regulatory expertise, and a private funds offering that spans secondary transactions, fund restructurings, and carried interest structuring. Recent headline matters include advising on a $17 billion direct lending fund for a major alternative asset manager, a $5.2 billion senior credit secondaries programme, and a €480 million private debt continuation vehicle giving a clear sense of the volume and quality of deal flow.
The team currently comprises two senior associates, approximately four mid-level associates and around seven juniors, supported by a strong partner bench. The practice is described as extremely busy and the hires are being made to increase capacity.
Compensation & Working Arrangements
Cravath scale remuneration with a discretionary bonus payable on hitting a 2,000-hour target. Minimum three days in the office per week (often four).
