We are instructed by the London office of a leading US law firm to support the continued growth of its Restructuring & Insolvency practice. Following multiple strategic lateral partner hires and recent junior-level additions, the team is now focused on strengthening at the mid-level (3–5 PQE).
The restructuring team forms part of the global platform of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, consistently recognised for advising on some of the most sophisticated and high-profile restructurings worldwide.
- Cross-border financial restructurings

- Creditor committee and ad hoc group representations
The firm is known for handling technically complex, multi-jurisdictional mandates involving investment banks, private credit funds, hedge funds, sponsors and multinational corporates. The global restructuring group is widely considered one of the market leaders in the field, with a reputation for intellectual rigour and innovative structuring solutions.
England & Wales qualified preferred (strong common law candidates also considered) ~ Direct engagement with financial creditors and sponsors ~ Court-driven processes and implementation mechanics.
Hours, Bonus & Remuneration:
- Bonus structure linked to hours performance:
- ~1,800–2,000 hours: approximately 50% uplift on base bonus
- ~2,000+ hours: approximately 100% uplift on base bonus
- ~ Standard bonus circa 10%
Compensation is firmly positioned at the top end of the London market.
