A leading US law firm is seeking a Structured Finance / Derivatives Associate (3–7 PQE) to join its London Capital Markets practice. The team advises on a broad range of UK and international transactions, including structured finance, cash and synthetic securitisations, derivatives, repackaging's and structured products. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level associate to join a high-performing team with strong international reach, advising leading financial institutions, asset managers and corporates on complex cross-border financing transactions. The role offers significant exposure to sophisticated matters and the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners on technically challenging deals.
What You’ll Do
- Advise clients on securitised derivatives and synthetic securitisation transactions.
- Draft, review and negotiate key transaction documentation across structured finance and derivatives mandates.
- Support complex structured finance transactions, including repackaging's and structured products.
- Work closely with partners and senior associates to manage transaction processes and coordinate cross-border deal teams.
- Conduct legal research and due diligence on complex financing matters.
- Liaise directly with clients, counterparties and advisers to support transaction execution.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and business development initiatives within the team.
About You
- England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent common law qualification).
- 3–7 PQE with experience in structured finance, securitisation, derivatives or debt capital markets.
- Experience gained at a leading international or US law firm, or a highly regarded in-house team.
- Exposure to securitised derivatives, synthetic securitisations or complex structured finance products is advantageous.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent technical drafting skills.
- Commercially minded with strong organisational and communication abilities.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with significant responsibility on transactions.
