A leading international law firm is continuing to expand its Corporate / Investment Funds practice in London and is keen to speak with associates as part of an ongoing growth strategy. The team provides highly commercial advice across fund formation, secondaries, co-investments and related corporate matters, working closely with the firm’s wider corporate and private equity practices on complex cross-border mandates.
The funds practice is co-led in London by two well-regarded partners and operates within a large, established office of around 200 lawyers. The team takes a partner-led approach to matters, drawing on support across both senior and junior ranks to deliver high-quality, sophisticated advice on flagship European fundraises and strategic transactions. Associates benefit from close partner access, strong technical exposure and involvement in high-value, international work.
This is a genuine growth hire. The team recruits regularly and currently has only a small number of candidates in process, reflecting a continued focus on building depth rather than backfilling departures. The firm is flexible on seniority and is typically open to lawyers in the 2–5 PQE range, provided they bring strong, relevant funds experience and a commercial mindset.
Candidates must have hands-on experience in London-based investment funds work, with a solid understanding of UK market and regulatory practices. Experience limited solely to offshore jurisdictions such as Guernsey or Luxembourg would not be suitable, as the role requires direct exposure to onshore fund structuring, formation and transactional matters. The team values lawyers who are technically strong, collaborative and comfortable working directly with clients and partners.
The Corporate Funds practice is consistently recognised in Legal 500 and Chambers for its work on fund formation, secondaries and co-investments. The London team regularly advises on flagship European funds in the €2–2.5bn range, with rankings highlighting the partners’ responsiveness, commercial execution and cross-border capability.
The wider London office comprises more than 60 partners and a deep associate bench, offering a stable and well-resourced platform for long-term career development.
Compensation is reflected entirely in base salary, with no separate bonus structure. No formal billable hour targets, with hours monitored on an informal basis. Consistently exceeding 2,000 hours or falling below 1,500 hours would typically prompt a discussion rather than any automatic consequence.
This opportunity would suit an investment funds associate looking for high-quality, international work within a collaborative, partner-led environment that offers flexibility, strong market standing and clear long-term growth prospects.
