A globally recognised U.S. law firm, consistently ranked among the very best in finance law, is seeking a bright, commercially savvy Asset-Backed Lending Associate with between one and four years’ post-qualification experience to join its thriving London office.

This is an outstanding opportunity to become an integral part of a renowned and fast-growing ABL team, which is at the forefront of advising major financial institutions, multinational corporates, and leading sponsors on innovative, complex secured financing transactions across a diverse range of asset classes. The team’s work spans sophisticated revolving credit facilities, acquisition financings, and bespoke asset-backed structures, often with multi-jurisdictional elements.

The Role

As a valued member of this highly respected team, you will have the chance to immerse yourself in all aspects of asset-backed lending transactions, working closely with senior partners and a global network of colleagues to deliver seamless, commercial, and client-focused advice. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide array of ABL facility agreements, security packages, intercreditor arrangements, and ancillary documents
  • Advising on secured lending transactions secured by various asset classes such as trade receivables, inventory, equipment, and intellectual property
  • Managing due diligence processes and ensuring robust risk assessment and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaborating with cross-border teams on complex financings, including coordinating closely with the U.S., European, and Asia offices to deliver innovative client solutions
  • Supporting the development of client relationships by providing practical, strategic advice tailored to the evolving needs of global market participants

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a technically strong and commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a dynamic, international environment. You will bring:

  • Between one and four years’ PQE, ideally gained at a top-tier international law firm or within a sophisticated in-house legal team focusing on asset-backed lending or secured finance
  • Proven experience advising on asset-backed lending or secured finance transactions, demonstrating solid drafting and negotiation skills and an understanding of the commercial drivers behind ABL deals
  • Exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to engage with clients and senior stakeholders
  • A collaborative and adaptable mindset, eager to work across cultures and time zones within a truly global practice
