Our client is looking for a structural engineer with a passion for heritage or conservation work and refurbishment projects to help with their expanding portfolio within the conservation team. As the successful senior heritage structural engineer, you will be CARE registered or working towards accreditation. Our client is involved with heritage and conservation projects together with the partners and assisted by engineers and technicians, leading the Heritage work. It is part of the ongoing business strategy to expand their services in this sector.
The successful candidate will be an experienced structural engineer with a very strong interest in heritage and conservation. The role requires passion for collaboration with all involved in projects, assessment of historic materials and liaising with specialists.
The role requires:
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to monitor and manage their workload and liaise with clients and contractors.
- Experience of heritage and conservation projects is essential along with good sketching abilities.
The position offers excellent career opportunities within the practice and the wider conservation community. The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to pursue Chartered status and eventual CARE accreditation. The role will be based at our Sevenoaks office although a proportion of time will be making site visits and inspections. This opportunity offers flexible hours of working with core hours in the office between 10.00 and 16.30. Flexibility of working remotely for one day of the week is by agreement after the initial probationary period.
