Junior Post Production Technician in Slough

Junior Post Production Technician in Slough

Slough Full-Time No working from home possible
Bubble TV

Bubble is a boutique post-production studio based in Soho, providing a full audio and picture post-production service across sound, edit, VFX, colour grading and online for TV, film, music and advertising.

We’re looking for a Junior Post Production Technician to join our team.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone at the beginning of their career in post-production who wants to develop a broad understanding of both the creative and technical sides of a busy facility.

Rather than sitting within one specific creative department, you’ll work across our sound, edit, grading and online teams, taking on many of the technical, media-management and studio support tasks that are currently handled by our operators. The aim is to free up our creative teams to focus more of their time on their core work, while providing a central point of support across the facility.

You’ll act as the first point of contact for day-to-day technical and operational issues, resolving straightforward problems where possible and liaising with our external IT and studio support teams when specialist assistance is required.

The role would suit someone with some initial experience in post-production, whether through a first industry role, internship, runner/assistant position or relevant training - who is technically minded, organised and keen to learn.

You don't need to be an expert in every piece of software we use. More important is a good understanding of post-production workflows, confidence around computers and media, and the ability to pick things up quickly.

The role

Day-to-day responsibilities will vary depending on what is happening across the facility, but may include:

  • General technical and operational support across the facility
  • Managing incoming and outgoing media, drives and file transfers
  • Downloading, uploading, organising and checking client files
  • Assisting operators with session preparation and general studio setup
  • Exporting files, stems, splits and other deliverables
  • Laying back or assembling files in Adobe Premiere where required
  • Preparing and importing media for Pro Tools, Premiere, Resolve and Flame sessions
  • Helping prepare projects for archive and restoring archived projects
  • Maintaining organised job paths and storage
  • Carrying out basic media checks and troubleshooting file or format issues
  • Helping operators troubleshoot everyday technical issues
  • Escalating larger technical problems to our external IT and engineering support where appropriate
  • Installing software, plugins and licences and assisting with workstation configuration
  • Managing basic user accounts, permissions and access

About you

We think this role would suit someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in post-production and wants to build a career within the industry
  • Has some understanding of professional post-production workflows
  • Is confident working with computers, storage and different types of media
  • Is organised and comfortable managing files and following established workflows carefully
  • Has good troubleshooting and problem-solving instincts
  • Is happy working independently but knows when to ask for help
  • Has good attention to detail, particularly when handling client media and deliverables
  • Is friendly and comfortable working directly with operators, producers and occasionally clients

Experience with any of the following would be useful, but we wouldn't expect applicants to know all of them:

  • Pro Tools
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • DaVinci Resolve
  • Flame
  • Shared storage and network-based post-production workflows
  • Media encoding, codecs and file formats
  • Basic macOS troubleshooting and workstation setup

Most importantly, we're looking for someone curious, dependable and eager to learn. There will be plenty of opportunity to develop both your technical knowledge and your understanding of different areas of post-production while working alongside experienced operators.
