The Role

As a Commercial Manager, you'll provide strategic commercial leadership across major infrastructure programmes, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while building strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic commercial and contractual support across projects
  • Lead pre- and post-contract commercial activities
  • Manage NEC and other contract frameworks
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers and contractors to drive project performance
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and dispute resolution activities
  • Ensure governance, compliance and risk management requirements are met
  • Deliver accurate commercial, financial and performance reporting
  • Mentor and develop team members
  • Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and clients
  • Represent BTTC across industry forums and networking opportunities

What We're Looking For

We're looking for commercially minded professionals who enjoy building relationships, solving complex challenges, and making a positive impact on major infrastructure projects. You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience in commercial, quantity surveying, or contract management roles within infrastructure, rail, construction, or a related sector
  • An understanding of NEC contracts and/or Network Rail standards
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional membership or an interest in working towards accreditation
  • The ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Experience supporting project delivery, commercial performance, and risk management
  • A collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing and supporting others
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
