We are seeking a proactive and organised Business Development Executive to support the firm’s strategic growth objectives and client acquisition activity. Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Client Growth, this role plays a key part in identifying, pursuing and tracking new business opportunities, maintaining a robust business development pipeline, and supporting cross-team initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior managers across the firm to help deliver impactful growth initiatives. They will be motivated and detail-oriented with an interest in business development and client growth, ideally with previous experience in a professional services environment.
Key responsibilities include:- Referral Network Development
- Support the development, maintenance and tracking of the firm’s referral networks.
- Ensure referrals and opportunities are accurately logged, followed up and progressed.
- Attend external networking events (e.g. Chambers of Commerce, industry forums and professional networks) to build relationships and identify potential clients.
- Research & Market Insight
- Conduct market, sector and client research to identify new business opportunities.
- Provide insights and analysis to support strategic business development decisions.
- Maintain and update the firm’s business development pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
- Track opportunities, progress and revenue impact.
- Cross-Selling & Upselling Initiatives
- Support initiatives to expand services to existing clients, encouraging collaboration across practice groups.
- Event Coordination
- Assist with the planning and delivery of client events and networking activities aligned to business development priorities.
- Reporting & ROI Tracking
- Prepare regular reports on business development activity, pipeline performance and return on investment.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to maximise the impact of campaigns, events and content for business development purposes.
- Provide cover for marketing projects during peak periods or staff absence, as required.
- Experience in a business development, sales or client-facing role (professional services or legal sector experience advantageous but not essential).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and confident approach.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to track, analyse and report on data.
- Proactive, resourceful and eager to learn.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Interest in using technology and AI to enhance business development processes and insights.
