This hybrid role will work closely with business stakeholders and IT delivery teams to understand business change needs, capture and analyse requirements, and support the successful delivery of technology-enabled change. The role combines hands-on business analysis with coordination of small-scale project and change activities and supporting larger programmes where required. It is well-suited to an individual early in their career who is looking to develop across both delivery and analysis disciplines within a technology or software delivery environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Business Analysis & Solution Design
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, document, and validate business requirements.
    • Assess business change needs and clearly articulate the business impact of proposed changes.
    • Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications that can be understood by delivery teams.
    • Write clear, concise user stories and functional requirements with well-defined acceptance criteria.
    • Utilise structured analysis and solution design techniques to shape effective and practical solutions.
    • Identify and communicate technical constraints, risks, assumptions, and dependencies to stakeholders and delivery teams.
    • Analyse existing systems and processes to identify improvements, efficiencies, and opportunities for innovation.
    • Produce high-quality analysis artefacts including process flows, functional designs, business rules catalogues, data models, and product backlog items.
  • Design & Change Support
    • Work closely with Head of Innovation to assist in preparing and coordinating business activities required to support New Application implementations.
    • Support project delivery activities using either Agile (Scrum/Kanban) or Waterfall methodologies.
    • Lead and coordinate small business change activities, ensuring readiness and adoption.
    • Work closely with development and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered as intended.
    • Support system testing activities including test preparation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect tracking, and issue resolution.
    • Assist in prioritising the product backlog in alignment with business value, risk, and dependencies.
    • Establish and support mechanisms to measure, track, and realise business benefits.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
    • Act as a key liaison between business users and IT teams.
    • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and working sessions to gather requirements, validate solutions, and drive decisions.
    • Prepare clear and professional documentation and materials for a range of stakeholders.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including IT, Operations, Finance, and external suppliers.
  • Tools & Techniques
    • Use one or more tools such as Visio, Excel, Miro, Microsoft Planner, or similar to support analysis, planning, and delivery activities.
    • Assist with data analysis, reporting, and basic integration-related activities where required.

Essential

  • 1–3 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst, Junior Project Manager, or similar role within a software delivery or technology environment.
  • Proven ability to understand business change needs and assess the impact of change.
  • Experience capturing, analysing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Ability to create user stories, process flows, functional designs, and backlog items.
  • Practical experience working within either Agile (Scrum/Kanban) or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and a range of business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical constraints, risks, and dependencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and system integration concepts.
  • Experience of shaping or contributing to innovative solutions to business problems.
  • Familiarity with benefits realisation and value tracking in change initiatives.
  • Experience supporting UAT and broader testing activities.

  • Experience of working within Project Management delivery methodologies.
  • Experience in dealing with business users and stakeholders.
  • Experience of working within a structured in-house IT environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • An analytical mind.
