As an Insolvency Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of insolvency cases, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and profitability. You’ll provide strategic guidance on case progression, manage budgets, and mentor your team to deliver excellent outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of insolvency cases (liquidations, administrations, bankruptcies), ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive case strategy and progress to achieve timely, efficient resolutions.
  • Conduct case reviews to ensure adherence to regulations, internal policies, and best practices.
  • Oversee complex investigations into financial affairs, director conduct, and asset realisation, offering technical input as needed.
  • Manage case budgets with strong financial controls; monitor and forecast profitability.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing; update senior management on fee recovery and financial performance.
  • Complete statutory filings, reports, and correspondence to a high standard and within deadlines.
  • Stay current with insolvency legislation and update processes accordingly.
  • Act as the compliance lead for your cases, ensuring best practices and internal controls are followed.
  • Mentor and support team members, helping develop their technical skills.
  • Review and approve junior team members’ work, providing constructive feedback.
  • Promote a collaborative, accountable, and improvement-focused team culture.
  • Serve as the main contact for clients, creditors, and stakeholders, building strong relationships.
  • Represent BTG at creditor meetings, court hearings, and other events.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities to enhance service and grow the firm’s reputation.

What we are looking for:

  • Significant experience in insolvency, with a strong track record of managing corporate cases independently.
  • Deep understanding of insolvency legislation, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in IPS (or equivalent insolvency software) and Microsoft Office applications (Cloud OR SQL).
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, billing, and monitoring case profitability.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders and external parties.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes.
