Are you a qualified Finance Business Partner who enjoys getting close to operations, challenging performance and helping manufacturing teams understand the story behind the numbers? This is a highly visible Finance Business Partner role with a large UK manufacturing group, supporting a complex operating division with multiple factory sites. You will work closely with factory managers, operations leaders and commercial stakeholders, helping them understand P&L performance, stock, production, cost drivers and opportunities to improve performance. This is not a role where finance simply reports the numbers. The business is looking for someone who can question, challenge and influence. You will help shape a more proactive finance business partnering model and play a key role in improving how financial insight supports operational decision-making.
The Role
- Take ownership of the financial performance of assigned factory sites, acting as the key finance contact for operational stakeholders.
- Managing the P&L for assigned factories.
- Partnering with factory managers to explain costs, margins and performance drivers.
- Challenging production, stock and cost decisions.
- Supporting cost-saving initiatives across the factory network.
- Preparing forecasts, budgets and financial projections.
- Completing month-end reporting and group submissions.
- Reviewing stock, production, sales volumes and cost performance.
- Supporting stock revaluation and audit activity.
- Presenting financial insight to operations and commercial leaders.
- Helping senior stakeholders understand factory performance and future outlook.
The Candidate
We are looking for a qualified accountant who has worked in manufacturing or another stock-heavy environment. You will need to be commercially curious, confident with operational stakeholders and able to explain financial information in a clear and practical way. Personality is important in this role. You will be working closely with factory managers and senior leaders, so you need to be credible, personable and comfortable challenging where required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food, building products, engineering or another stock-heavy environment.
- Strong understanding of stock, production, BOMs, costing or inventory.
- Previous finance business partnering experience.
- Experience managing or reviewing P&L performance.
- Forecasting, budgeting and month-end reporting experience.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
- Confidence working with factory managers, operations teams and senior leaders.
Why Apply?
This is a great opportunity to join a sizeable UK manufacturing group in a role where finance has genuine influence over operational performance. You will be close to the action, working with factory teams to understand what is driving performance, where costs can be improved and how the business can make better commercial decisions.
The role offers:
- £55,000 to £65,000
- Hybrid working, with Tuesday to Thursday in the office.
- 37.5-hour working week.
- Healthcare support, including access to GP services.
- Eye care benefits.
- Opportunity to work across a broad UK manufacturing network.
