BTG Recruitment are working with a growing Leicester-based distribution business that is looking to appoint a confident, commercially minded Credit Controller to manage business customer accounts, improve cash collection and help strengthen credit control processes.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for managing overdue invoices, building relationships with trade customers and ensuring the business has clear visibility of aged debt. The company is growing, ambitious and open to new ideas, so this would suit someone who enjoys improving processes rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
The Role
- Managing the debtor ledger and aged debt.
- Chasing overdue invoices from business customers by phone and email.
- Building strong relationships with trade, wholesale and commercial customers.
- Resolving invoice, payment and account queries.
- Producing aged debt reports and credit control updates.
- Highlighting high-risk accounts and escalating issues where needed.
- Supporting credit control process improvements.
- Using Sage or a similar accounting / ERP system.
- Using Excel to report on debt, payments and customer accounts.
The Candidate
- Proven business-to-business credit control experience.
- Experience managing aged debt and customer ledgers.
- Confidence chasing overdue invoices from commercial customers.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience using Sage or a similar accounting system.
- A professional, assertive and organised approach.
- The ability to manage your own workload and work independently.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with senior stakeholders.
This role would suit someone from a background in distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, retail head office, trade supplies or another B2B environment.
