A well-established business based in Burton upon Trent is seeking a Junior Financial Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their financial accounting skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of accounting responsibilities, supporting month-end processes and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end accounting processes
  • Supporting the preparation of accounts to trial balance
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial records
  • Assisting with financial reporting and wider finance team activities

About You:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Comfortable preparing accounts to trial balance level
  • Experience with journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Exposure to VAT returns and month-end processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • AAT qualified, studying ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience candidates are all welcome to apply
