We are recruiting an experienced, confident Credit Controller for a well-established food distribution business based in Nottingham (NG8). The role is fully on-site and can be offered on either a permanent or temporary basis, depending on what suits the right individual.
THE ROLE
- Managing live customer accounts across a high-volume wholesale environment
- Proactively chasing overdue debt by phone and email
- Holding customers firmly to agreed payment terms
- Resolving payment queries and disputes efficiently
- Producing statements, reminders, and aged debt reports
- Maintaining accurate records of all debtor communications
- Working closely with the Finance Manager to protect cash flow
THE PERSON
This role suits a proper credit controller—someone who is comfortable being firm, confident, and persistent when required. You will:
- Have proven credit control experience (sole-role experience ideal)
- Be confident chasing debt by phone
- Be assertive, resilient, and not conflict-avoidant
- Be comfortable working 100% on-site, five days per week
- Live within a reasonable commuting distance of NG8
