An ambitious SME in the construction sector is seeking a commercially-minded Finance Manager / Finance Business Partner to join their team on a part-time, flexible basis. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will act as a trusted financial partner, providing insight and guidance to support business decisions.
You will be responsible for producing management accounts, leading forecasting and budgeting processes, and contributing to board-level discussions. The role combines financial oversight with strategic input, giving you the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and present monthly management accounts.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
- Attend and contribute to client board meetings (2–3 per month).
- Provide commercial insight and financial guidance to support decision-making.
- Use tools such as Xero and Fathom for reporting and analysis.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience in commercial finance, management accounting, or practice.
- Experience in the construction or manufacturing sectors, ideally within an SME.
- Confident, client-facing, and able to work autonomously.
- Familiarity with Xero and Fathom or similar systems.
- You will be based in the North West of the UK.
- Part-time, flexible working (3 days per week).
