Nottingham / Remote

£50,000 to £60,000

Six-month fixed-term contract

Office attendance approximately once a month

Are you an experienced Financial Accountant looking for a broad interim role within a rapidly growing international business? BTG Recruitment is working with a £90 million turnover organisation that is strengthening its finance team during a busy period of audit, budgeting and systems improvement. Backed by significant investment, the company is growing quickly and investing in a new ERP system, automation and the use of AI across finance.

This is an initial six-month position with the potential to become permanent. The role is effectively remote, with travel to an office in Nottingham and/or London approximately once a month. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

The role

  • Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, with a dotted line to the Vice President of Finance, you will provide hands-on support across financial accounting, audit and group reporting.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Supporting the UK and US audit processes
    • Preparing audit schedules and responding to information requests
    • Assisting with financial accounting and VAT matters
    • Producing consolidated financial information and board reports
    • Collating information from across the business
    • Providing analysis and meaningful commentary
    • Reviewing current reporting processes and identifying improvements
    • Supporting the implementation and development of a new ERP system
    • Exploring opportunities to use AI and automation within finance
    • Providing support across transactional finance when required
    • Potentially supervising members of the processing team

The ideal candidate

You will be a versatile finance professional who can quickly understand the business and provide support wherever it is most needed. You may be newly qualified, a finalist or qualified by experience. More important is your practical financial accounting background and ability to operate effectively in a growing and changing environment. You should have:

  • Broad financial accounting experience
  • Experience supporting or working through an external audit
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills
  • Experience with VAT
  • Exposure to consolidated or senior-level reporting
  • An understanding of transactional finance processes
  • Experience improving finance processes or reporting
  • The ability to work independently in a predominantly remote role

Experience of IFRS, international or multi-entity reporting, ERP implementation, US GAAP, automation or AI within finance would be advantageous but is not essential.

What is on offer?

  • Salary of £50,000 to £60,000, depending on experience
  • An initial six-month fixed-term contract
  • Potential for the role to become permanent
  • Effectively remote working
  • Office attendance only around once a month
  • Reimbursement of agreed train fares, parking and business mileage
  • Exposure to international reporting, systems improvement and finance automation
  • The opportunity to join a growing, investment-backed organisation

The company would ideally like someone who is immediately available or able to start at short notice.
