Are you a Financial Accountant looking for a broad role combining technical accounting, audit support, group reporting and process improvement?
BTG Recruitment is working with a rapidly growing, investment backed international business with turnover of approximately £90 million and a finance team spanning the UK and US.
This is a permanent opportunity within a developing finance function that is investing in its reporting capabilities, systems, automation and use of AI. The position is predominantly remote, with travel to an office in Nottingham and/or London approximately once a month.
The role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, with exposure to senior finance leadership, you will support the business across financial accounting, audit and group reporting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the UK and US audit processes
- Preparing audit schedules and responding to information requests
- Assisting with financial accounting and VAT matters
- Producing consolidated financial information and board reports
- Collating financial information from across the business
- Providing analysis and commentary on financial performance
- Reviewing and improving reporting and accounting processes
- Supporting the development of the company’s ERP system
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and AI
- Supporting transactional finance activities when required
- Potentially supervising members of the processing team
The ideal candidate
The company is looking for an adaptable finance professional with broad financial accounting experience who can work across both detailed accounting and senior level reporting.
You may be qualified, at finalist level or qualified by experience. More important is your ability to support an audit, produce accurate financial information and identify practical improvements to finance processes.
You should have:
- Broad financial accounting experience
- Experience supporting an external audit
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial control skills
- Experience producing financial reports, analysis and commentary
- Practical VAT knowledge
- Exposure to transactional finance
- Experience improving finance processes or reporting
- Strong Excel skills
- The ability to work independently in a predominantly remote role
Experience of consolidated reporting, IFRS, US GAAP, international businesses, ERP implementation, automation or AI within finance would be advantageous but is not essential.
