Broad Overview
The Alliance Manager - Rare Oncology is responsible for building, managing, and optimizing strategic partnerships and alliances with external organizations, with a dedicated focus on the Rare Oncology portfolio. The role ensures alliances deliver maximum value by aligning partner capabilities with company goals, driving joint initiatives, and maintaining strong executive-level relationships.
The position requires proven experience in rare diseases and oncology, knowledge of Un-licensed sales and ODD/Special Access, and strong project management skills for product launches and new client development.
As an Alliance Manager- Rare Oncology BU, your responsibilities will include:
- Partnership Development & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with actual and future commercial partners in the Rare Oncology field.
- Act as the primary point of contact for our partner organizations within the Rare Oncology portfolio.
- Enhance actual alliances and create new partnerships to optimize the performances of the Portfolio in various territories.
- Lead and support launch management for new therapies within the Portfolio.
- Strategic Alignment
- Ensure partnership objectives align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Develop joint business plans and roadmaps with partners.
- Contract & Agreement Management
- Negotiate, draft, and manage alliance agreements and governance structures, over regular piloting of Joint Steering Committees, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly meetings, remote or physical in the various territories (Asia-Pacific, Latin-America, Africa, Non-Arabic-speaking countries of the Middle-East).
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaboration & Execution
- Drive joint initiatives such as co-innovation, co-marketing, or product integrations.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (sales, product, marketing, legal, operations) to deliver on alliance commitments.
- Pilot the forecasting production needs with regards to the local performance and coordinate the S&OP commercial obligations.
- Lead project management for new product launches in Rare Oncology, ensuring timely and successful market entry.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track KPIs, milestones, and financial outcomes of alliances via multiple tools and trackers.
- Provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Market & Industry Insight
- Monitor industry trends, competitor alliances, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate new potential partners and clients.
- Conduct research and qualification of new clients for Rare Oncology products.
- Conflict Resolution & Risk Management
- Identify, highlight and prevent potential conflicts or risks in actual and future partnerships.
- Facilitate resolution and ensure relationships remain constructive.

- Ensuring that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with SERB values.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as required by the Line Manager.

To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, account management, or alliance management.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Solid understanding of business strategy, contracts, and commercial agreements.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
- Analytical skills for assessing partnership performance and ROI.
- In-depth knowledge of Un-licensed sales and ODD/Special Access programs would be a key advantage.
