BTG Eddisons is expanding its Lease Reform department and is seeking an experienced property professional to support and lead work relating to lease extensions and enfranchisement. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in leasehold reform, gained through property administration, paralegal work, leasehold management, or valuation-related roles.
As a Property Administrator within the Lease Reform team, you will be involved in a broad range of cases under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 (LRHUDA 1993). You will play a key role in progressing statutory lease extensions and enfranchisement matters, applying your understanding of the legislation, valuation principles, and negotiation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing and quality-checking work completed by junior team members
- Managing more complex or sensitive cases from initial review through to completion
- Leading negotiations to secure fair and reasonable outcomes for clients
- Preparing Expert Witness reports for First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) cases, with the option to attend hearings depending on your experience
- Acting as a technical point of support within the team, ensuring consistent standards and high-quality case handling
Working Style
This role is primarily desk-based and well suited to someone who:
- Prefers minimal travel
- Values flexibility in working location
- Enjoys detailed, structured casework and analytical tasks
For those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of buildings and the surveying process, there is also the opportunity to accompany surveyors on property visits. We actively support professional development, including funding the SAVA course and supporting progression toward AssocRICS status.
Professional Background
We welcome applicants from a variety of professional pathways, including:
- Leasehold reform specialists
- Paralegals or legal assistants in property or enfranchisement
- Professionals with experience in statutory lease extension or enfranchisement negotiations
- Individuals with valuation knowledge (chartered status not required)
Applicants from paralegal or wider professional services backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply, as full training can be provided. RICS membership is beneficial but not essential, as the role focuses on technical understanding, case management, and negotiation rather than formal surveying status.
Who This Role Suits
This position is ideal for someone who:
- Has hands-on experience with leasehold reform processes
- Enjoys analytical, legislation-based work
- Wants to contribute to a specialist and supportive team
- Prefers a flexible, predominantly desk-based role, while still having the option to gain on-site experience
