BTG Eddisons is looking to appoint a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our expanding Building Consultancy team in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity for an MRICS-qualified surveyor to work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, education and public-sector properties, delivering a broad range of professional and project-based surveying services.
The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team, working with an established client base while benefiting from the resources, expertise and reach of BTG Eddisons' nationwide network of over 35 offices and 550 property professionals.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of instructions, develop client relationships, and play a key role in the continued growth of the Milton Keynes office.

You will be involved in a wide range of professional and project work, including:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Surveys
- Pre-Acquisition Building Surveys
- Design and Contract Administration
- Schedules of Condition
- Schedules of Dilapidations
- Defect Diagnosis and Technical Reporting
- Refurbishment and Alteration Projects
- Building Condition Surveys
- Project Monitoring and Delivery
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering a range of professional Building Surveying instructions across commercial property portfolios.
- Undertaking building surveys and preparing comprehensive, client-focused reports.
- Providing technical advice on building defects, maintenance, repair and refurbishment matters.
- Acting as Contract Administrator on refurbishment and construction projects.
- Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
- Managing projects from inception through to completion.
- Undertaking schedules of condition, dilapidations assessments and negotiations.
- Carrying out reinstatement cost assessments and planned maintenance surveys.
- Supervising works on site and attending progress meetings.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Supporting business development activities and identifying opportunities for cross-selling services.
- Assisting in the mentoring and development of junior team members where appropriate.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will possess:
- MRICS qualification or be working towards final APC assessment.
- Degree-qualified in Building Surveying or a related RICS-accredited discipline.
- Strong experience delivering professional Building Surveying services within a commercial environment.
- Knowledge of contract administration and project delivery.
- Experience undertaking building surveys, defect analysis and preparing technical reports.
- Understanding of dilapidations, schedules of condition and maintenance advice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to Work in the UK.
