We are seeking a proactive, organised, and delivery‐driven Building Services Project Manager to join our growing Sustainability and Decarbonisation team. This role is central to managing the planning, coordination, and execution of building services projects—primarily mechanical and electrical—within the education sector on a national scale. You will oversee project lifecycles from early design through to completion, ensuring alignment with programme goals, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership — Manage the full lifecycle of building services projects, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and client objectives.
- Stakeholder Coordination — Work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to maintain alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Programme & Budget Control — Monitor project schedules, financial performance, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery.
- Sustainable Design Integration — Collaborate with design managers to embed sustainable, future‐proof solutions into building services strategies.
- Technical Oversight — Provide informed guidance and decision‐making support throughout design, procurement, and delivery phases.
- Site Management — Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, resolve issues, and uphold quality and safety standards.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine building services solutions.
- Reviewing site progress and ensuring alignment with design intent and project milestones.
- Communicating updates to stakeholders, clarifying requirements and managing expectations.
- Maintaining project controls to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
- Providing technical direction from concept through to handover.
- A degree in engineering or a related discipline; professional certifications are beneficial.
- Proven experience managing building services projects, ideally with exposure to the education or retail sectors.
- Strong understanding of JCT Contracts and project governance frameworks.
- Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems from concept through implementation.
